Surplus Relief Pros πŸ“ž (702) 810-8848

Lost a home to foreclosure or a tax sale?
The county may be holding money that belongs to you.

When a home sells at auction for more than what was owed, the extra money β€” called surplus funds or excess proceeds β€” belongs to the former owner or their heirs. Most people never get told it's there.

βœ… No upfront costβœ… We only get paid if you get paidβœ… All 50 statesβœ… 2-minute form

Which type of foreclosure was it?

Each one is held by a different office and has its own rules β€” we handle all three, plus claims by heirs.

🏠 Tax sale (property taxes)

Your home was sold by the county for unpaid property taxes and sold for more than the taxes owed.

🏘️ HOA foreclosure

The homeowners association foreclosed over unpaid dues and the home sold for more than the HOA was owed.

🏦 Mortgage foreclosure

The lender's trustee sold the home at auction for more than the loan balance.

πŸ‘ͺ Heirs of a former owner

A parent or relative lost a home before passing away. Heirs can often claim the money that was left over.

How it works

1

You fill out the free check

Takes 2 minutes. We look up the sale and confirm whether money is actually being held and how much.

2

We tell you what we found

If there's nothing there, we tell you that too. If there is, we explain the claim process and what the fee would be β€” in writing, before you sign anything.

3

We handle the paperwork

Claim forms, notarized affidavits, title work and county follow-up. In states that require it (Georgia, for example), claims are filed through a licensed attorney.

4

You get paid

The county or trustee releases the funds. Our fee comes out of the recovery only. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.

Free Surplus Funds Check

Answer what you can. If you're not sure about something, leave it blank β€” we'll figure it out.

πŸ”’ Your information is private and is never sold. We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice.

βœ… Got it β€” we're on it.

We'll look up the sale and call or text you, usually within 1 business day. If you'd rather not wait, call (702) 810-8848.

Questions people ask

Is this real? It sounds like a scam.

Surplus funds are real and are created by state law. The county treasurer, sheriff or the foreclosure trustee holds the money until the right person claims it β€” and after a set number of years it can be turned over to the state. Our free check confirms whether funds exist before anyone signs anything. You can also verify directly with the county that held the sale.

Can't I just claim it myself?

Yes. You're never required to hire anyone to claim your own money, and we'll tell you that in writing. Most people hire us because the process involves notarized affidavits, title searches, competing claims from lienholders, and in some counties a court interpleader. We do that work and only get paid from what's recovered.

What does it cost?

Nothing upfront. Our fee is a percentage of the funds actually recovered, agreed in writing before we start, and it comes out of the recovery at the end. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing. Where state law caps the fee (for example, Nevada caps fees on tax-sale surplus from a primary residence), we follow the cap.

How long does it take?

It depends on the county and whether anyone else files a claim. Simple claims can pay in a few weeks; contested claims or ones that go through court take longer. We'll give you an honest estimate once we see the file.

My parent lost the house and has since passed away. Can I claim it?

Often, yes. Heirs can usually claim a deceased owner's surplus, sometimes with a probate or small-estate step first. Fill out the form and tell us the situation.

What states do you cover?

All 50 states. Surplus funds are created by state law everywhere, and every county handles its own claims. We're based in Las Vegas and work files nationwide β€” submit the form and we'll check the county that held your sale.

Find out in 2 minutes. It costs nothing to check.
